Support for individuals, couples and families to allow relationships to heal

Meet Helen

I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Clinical Family Therapist who specialises in helping families heal and reconnect after relational trauma.

My sessions are filled with warmth, humour and authenticity. I take a non-judgmental and collaborative approach to create a safe therapeutic space.

Over the last 15 years, I have worked in the not-for-profit sector supporting children and their families who have experienced trauma, grief and disconnection. I have a strong interest in intergenerational trauma and supporting people to process their experiences and move on with compassion and hope for themselves and others.

I work with children and adults, both individually and as a family or couple. I have a Masters in Clinical Family Therapy. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Gottman couples therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I am a member of the Australian Association of Family Therapy, the Australian Association of Social Workers and the EMDR Association of Australia.

Meet Latte

Latte is a gentle calming presence in the therapy room. You are welcome to sit on the floor with her, have her at your feet or ask her to give you space.

She is in the office most days - if she’s not with me, she’s probably got herself very muddy before work.

What is Kintsugi?

Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing special pieces of crockery with gold. It’s a beautiful metaphor for healing. It helps us accept imperfection and honours the experiences that shaped us.

I’m interested in the bonds that bring people together - whether that is in your relationships with others or with yourself.

How we reach out to our partner for connection or reassurance.

How we make sense of the conflicting parts of self.

How we show care for our children when we are still hurting from our childhood.
